Living It: Embracing Authentic Worship

It’s been years since I last poured my thoughts into this space. The demands of work and ministry led me on a journey that took me away, but today, I would want to be a keyboard warrior once again. Turn you your bibles with me to Genesis 4:2-5. Or you can just click here.

So, check this out: I’m taking a moment to share about two brothers, Abel and Cain. Abel’s working with his livestock obeying God’s command to take dominion over animals. Then you’ve got Cain, who worked with the cursed ground – life’s got its curveballs, right?

As professionals meeting the demands of our careers and personal lives, we often find ourselves doing the tasks before us – forgetting the reason why we were sent to the workplace in the first place. The struggle is real, but so is the opportunity for authentic worship.

Imagine Abel, diligently working with the animals, embracing his role in God’s grand design. Contrast that with Cain, toiling with the cursed ground, a stark reminder of the challenges we face when we live apart from God. In this simple yet profound image, we glimpse a truth: our daily work, our actions, and how we navigate the challenges before us can be an offering of worship.

As young professionals, our lives become a signpost upon which we demonstrate our devotion to God. In the boardrooms, in coffee shops, and even in virtual spaces, our actions would speak louder than words. It’s not just about what we say on Sunday mornings but how we live on Monday through Saturday.

Our Next Move: Let us embrace our role as professionals with authenticity. Let our work, our relationships, and your response to challenges be an offering of worship. Worship is not just giving what we want but giving what God wants. In our daily grind, despite being busy, let us find moments to reflect God’s character.

As we start 2024, let us rediscover the joy in authentic worship, not confined to a place or time but woven into our lives.

Welcome back to regniwonk.com, where the journey of re-knowing God continues in the rhythm of our daily lives.
